The Toklat® T3 Matrix™ 31" x 30" Performance Shim Pad with Nonslip Lining & Ortho-Impact Inserts is designed to keep your horse working comfortably under pressure. This is a lightweight and breathable pad with an abrasion-resistant, military-grade, nonslip ETC™ top fabric that can be used alone or under a woven blanket. The nonslip lining provides extra grip to help relieve saddle slippage. It is a lightweight and durable high quality, low profile mesh that allows moisture and air to pass through, minimizing heat buildup that can lead to galling with thicker or solid non-slip linings. It will not over-grip and pull hair.

Full-length Ortho-Impact Inserts offer dual protection for the horse by giving both impact protection and cushioning. The ultralight, ultra-thin layer of 5mm high-density XRD® Technology provides superior protection by absorbing 90% of impact, and the 13mm layer of high-density viscoelastic memory foam offers superior musculoskeletal cushioning. Ortho-Impact is a great performance insert that can also help compensate for saddle fit and asymmetrical muscle development. It protects the horse while minimizing the shock felt by the rider, providing back relief and a more secure seat. It offers maximum cushioning properties without restricting range of motion.  These inserts are perforated for true breathability. Inserts are removable through hook and loop spine.

Shim Pads can improve the fit of a Western saddle without sacrificing Impact Protection. Each pad comes with twelve 1/4" thick felt shims: two front, two middle and two rear on each side. Strategically place the shims to balance the saddle from front to back or adjust from side to side to compensate for asymmetrical muscle development. Easily converts from a built-up pad to a bridge pad.
